Thanks to everyone who made Upstream a success!

This was a great event, bringing together hundreds of bands, sponsors, art, performers, culture and artists to raise money for arts and culture in Seattle.

I want to thank everyone from the Seattle Sounders to Bold Hat productions for all that they have organized and contributed.  Thanks to everyone for all that they contributed to this great event and I look forward to participating in this again next year!

Caribou, Outer Space Coasts, Waterfalls, Rainforests and Smores

We recently traveled on our second Wine and Chocolate tour of the Peninsula and Washington State coast and it was memorable!   It just happened to include Valentine’s Day this time around.  We saw caribou, the west coast of the state of Washington and its otherwordly rock formations with trees growing out of them, waterfalls, the Hoh Rain Forest, tasted wine and ale, enjoyed chocolate, 20160214_092639ate fresh Dungeness Crab and made smores by the fire.

It was a memorable family experience and we totally enjoyed all that nature has to offer.  We stayed in a hunting lodge in the rain forest and walked the stormy coast of Washington state.  We stayed in an old barn converted to a bed and breakfast, lounged on a private beach and enjoyed view of the the Olympic Mountains.  We also saw lighthouses and visited Crescent Lake.  It was an unforgettable journey.

Here is the first page of my book, inspired by true events, “Text Message From Heaven.”

When Alisha got a text message from Halia, she couldn’t believe it!  She started to cry.  Halia had been dead for a week!

“What would my friends say if they knew I was drinking right now?” Halia asked her sister Carlee at the Christmas party.

“They don’t need to know,” said her sister, Carlee, slurring her speech, obviously having drunk too much!

“I better get you home,” decided Halia.  But she knew she shouldn’t be driving either.  However, she had no choice.

She helped her sister into the car, said good-bye to their host, then began the short drive home.  It was Christmas in Snohomish.  It was very dark, cold and icy. ”
