Getting out and spending time in nature with no internet, wifi, computer access or coverage bars or signal on my smart phone is critical for me. In order to maintain my physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health, I need to spend time out in nature, away from technology. There is no better place to do this than high up in the mountains, out in the woods, surround by rushing rivers, quiet and purity.
This is what I am doing this weekend, an escape from crowding. I am at high elevation in a pine forest, surrounded by serenity, open sky, clear air, wild animals, no traffic or computers or offices and plenty of peace and quiet. I am far from the daily commute and hustle of the daily grind. This is my paradise and as long as I can come here frequently, I can maintain my personal balance and remain healthy and inspired.
We are enjoying Labor Day weekend with some good food, grilling, camping, hiking, playing golf, enjoying the sunshine outdoors and taking in some live music. We are also doing a bit of travel as well up to Leavenworth to see the mountains, enjoy the forests and rivers and playing some golf.
This has been a wonderful summer in the northwest and the weather has been grand! What a great way to end the summer with this gorgeous weekend. I am excited to spend more time outside but also looking forward to the new school year in my new job, in a new school, with new students. Bring it on!
We went camping again this summer and it was amazing! It was so fun to be outdoors, in the mountains, hiking, crossing rivers, starting a campfire, roasting food over the open flames and finishing the night off with freshly made smores!
The weather was warm and perfect. We camped beside the river and the sound of the rushing water was amazing. Along with the chirping of the crickets and the crackle of our fire, it was an exhilarating experience. It does the mind, body and soul good to commune with nature and camp. I highly recommend everyone camp at least once per summer!
