We raised quite a bit of money at Solstice this year. The annual Fremont Solstice Fair is a great event full of crafts, food, music and fun for the whole family. I volunteer and help organize this event, among others. Thanks to all the sponsors as well. The Chamber of Commerce are pleased with how much we raised for its charity that will go back into making the entire Seattle community better.
This was a great event, bringing together hundreds of bands, sponsors, art, performers, culture and artists to raise money for arts and culture in Seattle.
I want to thank everyone from the Seattle Sounders to Bold Hat productions for all that they have organized and contributed. Thanks to everyone for all that they contributed to this great event and I look forward to participating in this again next year!
I recently participated in a fund raiser for D.A.W.N. (Domestic Abuse Women’s Network), as a referee and judge for a chili cook off. It was sponsored by W.M.F.H.A. I had a blast! I even got to wear my referee shirt and was able to be part of the judging for each category. There were some great chili recipes and I was privy to the winners of each round, including the championship!
D.A.W.N. is an amazing charity and an outstanding cause toward counseling, housing and hopefully ending domestic abuse once and for all, not just against women but against everyone. Through our effort we were able to raise $25,000.00 in charitable funds. I look forward to helping with many more charitable efforts throughout the years to help as many people as I can.
I recently set up a private fund raiser to help a friend going through a health crisis. I did it out of the purest intentions, but unfortunately, most people thought I did it for the wrong reason. Most people assumed I had the wrong intentions. Many people were jealous that I thought of it before them. And several others questioned my integrity, methods and honesty!
Why is our society so jaded that you are automatically accused of being guilty until proved innocent? I guess with so many scams these days, even by so-called “charity organizations,” have made most people distrustful. We live in a sad world where whenever someone tries to do something good or raise money, they are immediately judged as being shifty or scamming! We need to get back to days gone by when we assumed everyone’s attentions were pure from the beginning. Or maybe we can never get back to those days. I will press on, through all the push back, and continue to do good and help out my fellow man in crisis, continuing to raise funds to those less fortunate than myself and for those in need.

Help me raise money for Breast Cancer Research: All proceeds from the sale of my books this month will be donated to Breast Cancer Research:
It has been a long time since I had a suit tailor-made for me, but it is fun to do it again. I have several weddings and special occasions coming up so I decided it was time to get some new, custom-made suits. This was also for a good cause since we donated two of my older suits to charity. I am proud, though, that I can still fit into my custom-made suit from high school!
It is nice to be pampered once in a while, to have a tailor custom fit you for a suit that you like. Everybody likes to be spoiled once in a while and be made to feel special. Of course, the next one to get a custom-made tailored suit will be my son, as he enters high school this year! He may even fit into my suits soon!
So I was at the gas pump the other day, getting raped again by ludicrous gas prices, and I began to wonder if our poor economy was the result of our lowered morals or if our lowered morals tanked our economy? Remember when we used to get big candy bars, hamburgers and giant portions of food for so little money? Now every plate seems to be larceny. And walking out of the grocery store with two bags used to cost twenty bucks, now it costs fifty! Stamps are ridiculously expensive and so is everything else, which service and quality keeps going down. Did we reduce our quality and service, lower our morals, just out of greed? And is that why our economy has tanked?
Or did the greed of the government, nickel and diming us over everything, cause us to be ignorant, oblivious, inconsiderate people as drivers on the road? Is our poor economy why everyone wants to sue everyone and sleep with everyone’s wife, get people in trouble, back-stab and passively aggressively attack everyone? We need to open our eyes and start behaving like humans again. And let’s give more to the poor, help people out, lower our prices and give people a bargain once in a while. Life is not about things, it’s about people, so take care of everyone else first and be generous.
