Scientists de-planetized Pluto for money!

What an amazing discovery!  That Pluto is suddenly not big enough to be a planet.  Or is this just another scam perpetuated by scientists, like dinosaurs, to create more revenue for their clique?  Think about how much media coverage, advertisement dollars, thesis papers, articles and books have been generated on this subject and how much money has been made.

Why can’t scientists just accept their position and not keep inventing fantasy and trying to make it reality?   If they can’t honestly earn a living, they should choose another occupation.  There are enough wonders in the cosmos and new discoveries in medicine and nature that the scientists don’t need to fabricate things just to make a buck.

Spending time in nature with no coverage bars is important for me.

Getting out and spending time in nature with no internet, wifi, computer access or coverage bars or signal on my smart phone is critical for me.  In order to maintain my physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health, I need to spend time out in nature, away from technology.  There is no better place to do this than high up in the mountains, out in the woods, surround by rushing rivers, quiet and purity.

This is what I am doing this weekend, an escape from crowding.  I am at high elevation in a pine forest, surrounded by serenity, open sky, clear air, wild animals, no traffic or computers or offices and plenty of peace and quiet.  I am far from the daily commute and hustle of the daily grind.  This is my paradise and as long as I can come here frequently, I can maintain my personal balance and remain healthy and inspired.

Train travel still excites!

I have loved trains ever since I was a boy.  Still today the sound of a train whistle, the rumble of an approaching train and the thunder of a passing train still stir my soul and bring back great memories.  When I was a child I traveled across the U.S. by train several times and each trip was memorable.  I am still cradled by the click-clack of the wheels going along on the tracks, like a lullaby.  Looking up I see the map of the Northwest, cities dotted by lights and the Pacific Ocean, gateway to another adventure.

When I lived in Europe, I fell in love with trains all over again, traveling all over the U.K. and the continent, on trains, under the Channel on the Eurostar and on tubes every day in the London Underground.  From the Berlin Zoo train to the Paris Metro, I rode trains frequently and renewed that love.  And in the sleeper cars of the long distance trains across Europe that love was sealed.  Even today, when I travel by train up and down the west coast of the U.S. and Canada, my memories are rekindled and my soul is stirred.  Even the club dining car with it’s chrome bar, leather seats and retro lighting are nostalgic!

Why do the history books lie to us?

Why do the history books lie to us?  Why do they tell us that Christopher Columbus discovered America when Leif Erikson did 400 years before Columbus was born.  Why do they tell us we walked on the moon when we didn’t, nor did the Russians.  Maybe that’s one of the reasons why JFK was shot, because he lied to us.  Why do they tell us that Lincoln freed the slaves out of emancipation when he only did it to gain more soldiers to fight for the Union Army?  Maybe that’s one of the reasons Lincoln was shot.

Why don’t they tell us that F.D.R. knew about the imminent attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese but he didn’t do anything about it.  Was it because he let it happen so that the U.S. was justified for entering World War II.  And what about Bush knowing about the attacks that were about to happen on 9-11.  And why did we forget to mention that while Nazis were killing Jews and Russians were killing just as many Slavs that America was killing and imprisoning Japanese.  It’s time for us all to open our eyes and see the reality of our government and society.  Oh, and wasn’t the Vietnam war all about drugs anyway?
