Why can convicted criminals play pro soccer in the English Premier League but Lance Armstrong was banned from soccer for life? What kind of message does this send to our kids who look to these athletes as role models and heroes? If you are a convicted criminal, you should be banned from your sport in every country for life and stripped of your medals and titles just like Lance. What does this say about the leadership of the English Premier League, the country’s morals and the players?
The same goes for convicted criminals playing in the National Hockey League. Why can they still play? What does this say about Canada and its sports leadership? We need to be consistent across the board and if one pro athlete gets banned from their sport for life for convicted crimes, like Lance Armstrong and Pete Rose, then all pro athletes who are convicted criminals should get the same!
