The Bavarian Ice Festival in Leavenworth, WA was a blast, literally! There was ice sculptures and snow sculptures outside, snowboard contests, fireworks and, of course, the wonderful holiday lights, food and music that only Leavenworth can display. There was two feet of snow everywhere and hills covered in solid ice for sledding. The temperature was 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
And nearby Stevens Pass was also flocked and full of its winter festivities, such as snowboarding and skiing. The pass was covered in blizzard snow as well, but the roads, both on the Pass and in Leavenworth were impeccably maintained so that everyone could come and go with relative ease and comfort. It was an amazing three-day holiday weekend and we loved it. We plan to go every year now.
